It's going to take a process that took hours if not days and cut it down to 20 or 30 minutes. Maybe it needed something imbedded in the Click Conductor Track Midi. I exported Midi files from MWS before, but if I recollect, I used scratch Midi drum tracks and could never get the Drumtracker Midi to line up. This is how it s supposed to work.but for whatever reason.Noobie mistakes most likely. I export the Drumtracker Midi file into the Session folder and then Import/Blend it into a MWS Track. I then point Drumtracker to look at that file when it requests a Tempo Map. I then exported that as a Midi file and saved it in my Session folder. Then I created a Click track using the Click Conductor Function on one of the MWS channels. Now you have a Bar by Bar Tempo map that reflects the actual live drum performance. First use the Measure Map function in MWS to move the individual measures into alignment with the audio tracks. So.I did finally get Drumtracker to sync to MWS. I've got a number of songs from a Band to mix down, all recorded live off the floor.the drums need replacing, I want to use Superior Drummer's sounds and so I gotta make this work. So I've resorted to exporting the Drumtracker Midi files to an average track tempo and then doing the excruciating work of nudging all the drum hits into alignment with the audio track. I've tried exporting Midi files created in MWS and then seeing if Drumtracker would sync to them but I've not had any success. MWS does not have a function that specifically states you can export a "Tempo Map".

The few Tutorials available on the Internet show Drumtracker being used exclusively with Protools, and it seemed that this function was designed to integrate with PT in a seamless way. It's the Tempo Map that's most important here. During the exporting process, Drumtracker has you decide between outputting the Midi file to a fixed Tempo Rate or syncing it to a Tempo Map.

One of my pet peeves is the almost useless manual that came with it.especially the portion that describes outputting the newly created Midi file to your DAW. Too bad, because it does what it does VERY well in comparision to Drumagog or Steven Slate Trigger.both of which I've tried and keep coming back to Drumtracker. There are some other good competitors in the Market Place and they decided to focus on their core product line. I corresponded with Toontrack about this and the reply was that it simply didn't sell well enough. Unfortunately.Toontrack discontinued sales of this product some time ago. It outputs it's Midi in a number of different formats including the Midi General note mapping as well as seamlessly integrating with Toontracks other products like Superior or EZ Drummer. Toontracks DrumTracker works very well to convert audio Drum tracks into Midi notes. Thought I'd make it a separate post for those interested. is a stand alone, host independent, multi-track audio to MIDI converter.
